| Description: | We are looking for a clear-thinking, articulate and enthusiastic person to join our web development team. This person should have a solid grounding in ColdFusion development, with an equally strong background in HTML/XHTML, CSS and JavaScript. Whatever the level of accomplishment, this person's history should demonstrate a persistent desire to learn more. This person will have independently completed several projects that have been successfully deployed in a production environment. Ideally, one or more of these projects will have been built using any of the popular CF MVC frameworks: Model-Glue, Mach II, ColdBox or Fusebox. As a ColdFusion Developer, you will work closely with our Technical Director in developing and maintaining web applications. Your time will be divided between maintenance and refactoring of existing code, extension of existing code, and development of new web applications. Because we are a small shop, a fraction of your time will be taken up with server management and routine IT maintenance, including system and network maintenance, DNS and email account management, and evaluation of new technology. You will also be working with members of our customer service team in diagnosing problems and reviewing the results of their quality assurance. You may occasionally be called upon to assist our customers directly. Required Personal Attributes: This position requires strong powers of logic and analysis, the ability to quickly master new technology, business writing ability and good telephone skills. You should be comfortable in speaking with management-level people in a support capacity. Your work habits should include strong attention to detail, pride in your work and a drive to complete your work in a timely manner. Above all, you should be good at working openly and cooperatively with others while steadfastly pursuing your own completion goals. Technical Experience: This position requires a minimum of 2 years experience in the following areas: -- ColdFusion (preferably ver. 7+) -- HTML/XHTML using CSS-based layout techniques -- JavaScript, including DOM scripting and AJAX -- SQL and relational databases (preferably MySQL or MS SQL) Other Helpful Experience/Skills: -- FarCry Core/CMS -- ColdFusion frameworks (our preferred stack is Model-Glue, ColdSpring and Transfer) -- Ext JS, jQuery, Spry, YUI -- Flex, Flash, AIR -- Web development using ASP, Groovy, PHP, Python or Ruby -- Java or C# -- CFEclipse -- Subversion, ANT -- MXUnit, cfcUnit or CFUnit, Selenium -- Windows/*NIX server administration, networking and system maintenance -- Apache or IIS web server administration -- DNS administration -- Email administration Hours: This is a full-time position. However, we will consider candidates who would prefer to limit their commitment to 30 hours per week. Location: We would prefer to find someone within 30 minutes commuting distance of Claremont who could work on-site at least 1–2 days a week. However, we will consider a telecommuting arrangement with the right candidate. Compensation: Compensation will be competitive based on your level of knowledge and experience.
